Houston Business Journal seeks web editor

The Web editor at the Houston Business Journal will share responsibility for creating a robust news website every day at the award-winning HoustonBusinessJournal.com site, which is visited by 500,000 business people each month.

This individual will create one of Houston Business Journal’s most-popular news products, the Morning Edition email newsletter, which reaches nearly 18,000 subscribers daily. This is a combination of sharp local aggregation and astute business news writing.

This individual will aggregate, as well as write fresh content each day for Morning Edition, edit stories and create the newsletter, which publishes at 8:45 a.m. every weekday. Strong headline writing, sharp news judgement, excellent AP skills and proficient newswriting ability are musts. Success will be measured in increased reader engagement and product improvement.

In addition, this indivudal, working with the Managing Editor and Senior Web Editor, will write news stories, create video, conceive of and executive digital story packages and maintain the HoustonBusinessJournal.com home page.
