Honolulu daily seeks business reporter

July 3, 2014

Posted by Chris Roush

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser, Hawaii’s largest daily newspaper and top news website, is looking for an experienced business reporter to cover energy.

Hawaii is in the midst of a major energy transformation. It is the most fossil-fuel dependent state in the nation and has a goal of getting 40 percent of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030. We’re looking for a productive reporter able to be a watchdog for this expanding industry, cover other business assignments, post breaking news, and produce compelling daily coverage and outstanding enterprise for A1 and the Sunday Business section.

The reporter must also integrate photos and graphics into coverage. Social media skills are a plus.

Please send a resume, cover letter and five samples of published work and/or accessible links to Business Editor David Butts at dbutts@staradvertiser.com.
