Florida Today is looking for an ambitious reporter who wants to help lead coverage of the local business scene. That includes everything from entrepreneurs to Fortune 500 corporations, to writing about issues that affect mom-and-pop retailers to consumers. Primary topics include employment, housing, tourism and economic development.

It is seeking a reporter who’s eager to find the best business story of the day and run with it, aimed for 1A or a Sunday cover.

This reporter must be a quick learner and a clear storyteller, and be experienced using all the tools at a journalist’s disposal such as social media and video, and who understands the importance of immediacy, particularly on the business beat. We want someone who can get the business news first.

Please tell us why you are the right person for this job and include five to seven samples of your published work. We offer a competitive benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, vacation pay, 401(k). Florida Today is committed to diversity and proud to be an equal opportunity employer. Employment is contingent on passing a pre-employment, post-offer drug test and acceptable motor vehicle record.

Florida Today is located on Florida’s Space Coast – the home of Kennedy Space Center and the famed Cocoa Beach.
