FedScoop seeks business reporter

FedScoop, the leading online news publication serving the federal government technology market, is expanding its editorial team. The federal government spends more than $80 billion annually on information technology. This is an opportunity to cover some of the biggest and most innovative technology programs in the world and some of the nation’s top technology officials.

We are seeking a full-time reporter to cover government technology trends, policies and decision-makers.

Candidates should have at least three years of technology business reporting experience, ideally in online media, and familiarity with federal agencies.

Job responsibilities:

– Covering daily news related to the use of technology in federal agencies.

– Attending and covering related events to stay on top of emerging trends and strengthen ties with the federal IT community.

– Writing in-depth enterprise stories on technology, and interviewing government and industry thought leaders for personality profiles.

– Researching and crafting a monthly or quarterly feature story on civilian agency technology trends to educate decision-makers, legislators and other influencers in government and industry.

– Follow and engage government and industry leaders on social media.
