Boston Globe seeks tech reporter

July 5, 2014

Posted by Chris Roush

The Massachusetts technology scene is bursting with energy and innovation, from dorm room startups to large biotechs with global ambitions. We want a similarly energized tech reporter to not only cover the news, but to also tap into the culture of the tech world. The writing needs to be smart, confident, fully-voiced, unorthodox — and even funny –vividly telling stories about the quirky personalities and outsized ideas that drive innovation at ever faster speeds.
Responsibilities:
Reporting and writing breaking news and enterprise pieces for print and online.

Qualifications:
Skillful writing — as well as rock-solid reporting. We’re seeking someone who has ability to not only convey important news, but to do it in a sophisticated and entertaining manner that will engage a wide range of readers, not just those wedded to  the business world. We are looking for a storyteller who is precise, prolific, and excited about the accelerating pace of change in a modern newsroom.
Required skills and experience:

An English or journalism degree and a minimum of 4 years covering business — preferably technology — for a daily newspaper. Please don’t apply if you lack this experience.
