Candidates should have at least 5 years’ reporting experience and expect to master beat areas quickly, breaking news and applying deep domain knowledge and digital storytelling techniques to stories from Chicago’s tech and innovation scene.
They must be able to identify key players and issues, cultivate sources and become a must-read for their audience, while bringing an adept touch to broader issues and trending topics as well. An active social-media presence is a must.
