Bloomberg seeks speed desk editor

Bloomberg News is seeking a Speed Desk Editor in its New York, San Francisco, or Los Angeles office.

The successful candidate will write headlines in real-time format from corporate press announcements and sources including the web, social media, conference calls, and SEC filings.

The editor will be required to quickly read through press releases, company documents and news stories to immediately transform material information into clear, concise and accurate headlines and short stories.

The editor is expected to serve an audience of finance and capital market professionals, and should be comfortable working within a high-pressure team environment.

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
– Minimum 3 years of working experience in a financial and/or journalism setting is preferred
– Experience working in a real-time environment is essential
– Ability to write quickly, concisely and accurately in English under deadline pressure and handle a variety of topics
– Must be able to type at least 65 words per minute
– Must be able to read and comprehend an earnings report, accompanying statements and other announcements
– Must be able to multitask and handle high-pressure situations
