Bloomberg seeks LA bureau chief

Bloomberg News is seeking a dynamic individual for its Los Angeles bureau chief, one familiar with the people and processes of the entertainment industry, as well as the full size and scope of the city’s interests in government, private equity, fund management, finance, real estate, trade and shipping.

The successful candidate will manage and inspire reporters and editors with the goal of making Bloomberg’s coverage the most influential in the city. The individual must be driven and used to operating in a challenging environment.

They must demonstrate exceptional news judgement, be able to write and edit clear and comprehensive stories with a proven ability to regularly break news and produce high quality enterprise pieces. This individual must act as an impeccable ambassador for the company in the local market and beyond.

Experience/Skills/Qualifications:
– Business journalism experience is essential and experience of working in a real-time news environment.
– Expert knowledge of the entertainment industry and other economic drivers particular to the local market.
– Proven leadership skills and the ability to direct a team and influence senior stakeholders through matrix reporting lines and effective collaboration.
– Ability to attract prolific news-makers and to build on the reputation of the bureau both externally and internally as a world-class employer.
– Ability to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
