Bloomberg seeks First Word FX reporter in Hong Kong

Bloomberg News is seeking strategist/reporter for its First Word FX Service as it expands coverage of FX and rates markets across Asia, with particular focus on North Asia.

Candidates should have experience covering China’s yuan, and/or other currencies, and they should be familiar with government bonds and money markets. The candidate will be required to build contacts among the trader and investor community as well as among regulators. Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English is required.

The individual in this role will be responsible for providing fast and concise stories on FX and sovereign debt market flows and developments to provide perspective on “what is happening” and “what it means,” both against the backdrop of local developments as well as in the context of global macroeconomic and political trends.

Candidates must have the ability and market-specific knowledge to immediately discern actionable information from breaking news. They must have strong writing skills and will be expected to develop new contacts and turn them into sources.
