Bloomberg seeks editor for Bloomberg Live

Bloomberg is seeking an editor for Bloomberg Live events.

The editor for Bloomberg Live sets the overall editorial agenda globally for Bloomberg summits, developing high-concept, commercially successful programming that enhances Bloomberg’s editorial mission and burnishes its brand in the marketplace. The editor collaborates with his or her counterparts across Bloomberg to jointly develop timely, differentiated and compelling content packages.

The editor is also involved in strategic conversations with sales teams and potential sponsors to ensure editorial integrity. The person in this role will be the primary point for all content curation for Bloomberg Media’s conference business and will be accountable for the vision and overall programming direction of Bloomberg Live.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of journalism or equivalent experience
  • Editorial entrepreneur
  • Proven track record in developing high-concept or buzz-worthy panels or feature stories, utilizing Global 500 executives or newsmakers
  • On-stage experience with ability to moderate panels, MC events and host news-worthy interviews
  • Collaborative across divisions and media platforms and can lead the development of editorial franchise efforts across all platforms
  • Strong knowledge of international business news, particularly in areas of finance, technology, policy and politics, and economics
  • Open to innovative and new commercial models
  • External network of newsmakers that can be relied on for ideas, bookings and expanded relationships
  • Creative/innovative in formats and concepts
  • Aggressive in approach and hungry to drive results
  • Force of nature — able to harness the organization generating action and enthusiasm
  • Manager, delegator and team player
