Bloomberg seeks economy editor in DC

Bloomberg News is seeking an experienced and energetic editor in Washington D.C. to join its economic policy team, which covers the Federal Reserve, the U.S. Treasury Department and the International Monetary Fund.

Duties range from sending headlines and editing spot news to working with reporters on developing and executing enterprise. The ideal candidate will have experience covering a major economy or central bank for a real-time news service or a major newspaper.

He or she will have strong news judgment and be well-organzed, versatile and comfortable working in a team environment. Candidates must be able to produce clear and concise copy under intense deadline pressure and have a strong grasp of economics and economic policy.

Candidates should be accustomed to producing clear and comprehensive enterprise pieces, have a record of breaking important stories, and be able to edit spot news under real-time deadline pressure.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
-Minimum of three years of business journalism experience
-Prior experience editing stories
-Ability to write quickly and concisely under deadline pressure
