Bloomberg seeks economics editor in Hong Kong

Bloomberg is seeking an experienced economics editor to join Bloomberg Intelligence in Hong Kong.

Bloomberg Intelligence provides a comprehensive view of an industry, its key constituents including companies and credits, as well as the economies in which they operate. BI, combined with the power of the Bloomberg Professional service, gives users unsurpassed depth and breadth at the economy, sector, industry and company levels.

Bloomberg Intelligence also offers valuable written analysis, data and interactive charting and functions from a team of independent experts, giving trading and investment professionals deep insight into where crucial industries and economies stand today and where they may be heading next.

You would be part of this expanding team responsible for evaluating the health and trends of the major Asian economies.

You will be responsible for editing economic analysis prepared by BI Economists for publication over the Bloomberg Professional Service. You will work closely with the BI economists, including developing economic research standards and ensuring standards are met. The role will require you to use seasoned and proven judgment in research and publishing to contribute to the formation of the product and firm strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Considerable editorial and production experience, preferably in economics
  • Knowledge of research communication formats (particularly written communication) or financial news experience; preference for experience editing online content
  • Outstanding written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working with economists, analysts or journalists to develop and leverage themes
  • Ability to work with many types of people
  • Working Knowledge of Bloomberg Professional Service a plus
  • Experience working in an economic research, journalism or editing role covering China, Japan, India or other Asian economies would be an advantage
  • Chinese or Japanese language skills would be an advantage
