Bloomberg News seeks a wealth editor

Bloomberg News is seeking an editor in New York for Wealth coverage, working within a new team producing some of the most high-profile stories in the newsroom.

  •  You will work with the Global Valuations Editor, reporters and editors to maintain models for the Bloomberg Billionaires index, a list of the 500 wealthiest people in the world that’s updated daily.
  •  You will collaborate with reporters to research financial information on private companies, public holdings and other assets including art and real estate for stories that appear across multiple platforms, including the revamped Wealth vertical on Bloomberg.com.
  •  We are looking for someone passionate about generating stories and leads on hidden billionaires, the rise and decline of phenomenal fortunes and wealth management.

We’d like to see:

  •  Ideally a BA/BS in Business, Finance and/or Accounting or equivalent work experience
  •  2+ years experience conducting valuation analysis
  •  You will have expert Excel skills, experience valuating assets, keen attention to detail and be able to handle requests across time zones
  •  Proficient in reading company regulatory filings
  •  Ability to meet deadlines and logically tackle problems
  •  Dedication to improving and developing Bloomberg products
  •  Effective research, analysis and communication skills
  •  Local language skills a plus
  •  Journalism experience would be advantageous
