Bloomberg Media seeks reports editor

Bloomberg Media is looking for a Reports Editor to help manage a team of enterprise reporters at our flagship online publication.

The Reports Editor plays a key role in coordinating a globally-focused digital news team. The ideal candidate has over four years of experience as an editor, a track record of focusing on web-first news, and a keen sense for stories and ideas on a wide range of topics.

Experience working at multiple levels of the newsroom – from reporter to top editor – is a plus. The job requires a commitment to the best journalistic practices, impeccable judgment under fire and strong management and coordination skills.

Reports Editors also coordinate with the deputy managing editor and executive editor to plan and execute the overall vision for online news coverage, with creative input on everything from video to graphics and digital projects. Great collaborative skills are essential, as editors work with multiple teams within Bloomberg Digital and Bloomberg Media.

Responsibilities:

– Assign, pitch, develop, and track stories with reporters and editors
– Oversee reporters on story assignments, content flow, and time management
– Coordinate with managing and executive editor on editorial output, coverage calendar, and tone of site
– Coordinate with video teams, designers, and Bloomberg Graphics on multimedia treatments and assets for stories
– Work with freelance writers on pitches and story development
– Strong partnership with editors and reporting teams from Bloomberg News
