Posted by Chris Roush

BizWomenThe Editor is responsible for driving content and strategy as well as relentlessly building audience, growing the community of Bizwomen readers.

To be successful, the Editor must have well-honed news instincts, a burning curiosity about business and people, a deft editing hand, and be equal parts editor, leader, marketer and doer. We’re seeking someone who sees the world through multiple lenses so that the audience can gain a broader perspective — both on day-to-day, immediate news and on longer-term, deeper subjects.

Duties

Develop and drive a re-imagined product that: – Readers consider a daily destination. – Readers will talk about and share with others. – Fosters a sense of community, drawing people in and creating new opportunities for those who are already in the family. – Serves women who care about their careers and want to be part of a larger community of strong, successful women. – Can help improve the readers’ careers, their companies and their communities. Bizwomen should be their trusted source, offering them news and information they need to know and contacts they need to meet. Additionally, the Editor will: – Guide, develop and mentor a staff as well as the product. – Work with other department heads to create business and marketing plans. – Identify and address new business and audience opportunities to extend the brand. – Embrace community and business outreach as an ambassador of Bizwomen.

Skills

Inspiring, innovative and curious; collaborative, yet also able to lead and delegate; able to direct national aggregation and social media efforts but also able to develop and drive original, issue-oriented coverage to serve readers; eager to work in a rapidly changing and uncharted media environment.

To apply, send clips, a resume and a cover letter to Mark Mensheha, director, National News Desk at mmensheha@bizjournals.com
