Barron’s is seeking Story Editors with extensive experience shaping a wide variety of news and feature stories and in packaging them as part of a sharp, visually attractive product for both digital and print.

The successful candidates will have a minimum of five years editing experience in business and financial journalism. They will be versatile and highly skilled in all aspects of story editing and production, including coming up with the most compelling headlines for online and for print. They will be skilled at rewriting, and otherwise improving copy, finishing stories on deadline throughout the day for digital publication, and weekly for print publication.

Barron’s Story Editors must be comfortable working closely with reporters and other editors, able to spot holes and other issues in stories, and finding ways to make them work. They must be able to determine quickly whether a story needs a light edit or whether it needs an overhaul. If major changes are required, an ability to find solutions and work closely and collaboratively with reporters and other editors is a must. Barron’s Story Editors also must be able to multi-task, and do quick, accurate edits for online, including captions and headlines for digital photos and graphics.
