Barron’s Asia seeks lead columnist

Barron’s, a financial news magazine and website published by Dow Jones, is launching a premier, English-language, paid website this fall and seeks a seasoned journalist to be its lead columnist.

This is a full-time position, based primarily in Hong Kong. This senior columnist will write incisive commentary and informed analysis of news and developments moving Asian markets and companies. An original voice is a must, as is the ability to turn the column into a destination for readers and investors. Candidates must be comfortable taking views on complex issues affecting Asia’s economies.

The successful applicant can write compellingly about a broad range of topics – but as a result, versatility and fluency on a broad array of issues are assets, as is the knack for writing quickly and well under deadline.

This senior columnist should have at least five to 10 years’ experience. The ability to speak local languages help, but a distinctive writing style in English is essential.
