Automotive News is seeking a reporter.
Responsibilities include:
Production of high quality editorial content for Automotive News and all its platforms.
The majority of this person’s time will be covering a major automaker with the remaining time spent covering major suppliers. The reporter will be responsible for all facts of coverage of these companies and will be expected to deliver exclusive stories and scoops.
Producing content our audience cannot get anywhere else.
Quality writing and reporting. Actively promote your work on social media.
Networking with key industry sources and auto dealers, particularly within the companies on the beat.
Competing for scoops with some of the best reporters in business journalism for numerous global news organizations
Basic Qualifications:
Quality business journalism experience for a major news organization.
At least 10 years for a major news organization that covers sophisticated business news.
Quality writing and reporting, with pinpoint accuracy.
Being able to get scoops and exclusives even if the primary source doesn’t cooperate or assist you.
Very high standards of journalism excellence with the ability to aggressively pursue stories.
Work very quickly in real time and be able to make all deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Regular travel will be expected several times a year.
