Advertising Age seeks three reporters

May 16, 2015

Posted by Chris Roush

Advertising Age is looking for three dynamic, self-starters to cover a broad cross section of marketers, media companies and agencies. These posts require 3+ years of reporting experience, with a demonstrated ability to develop sources, break news and write features.

We want reporters who are scoops-obsessed, collaborative and outgoing, and who possess the ability to read a financial report and a desire to dig deeper than the press release. You must have an eye for details, clear and accurate writing skills and an ability to make complex issues compelling, readable and shareable.

If this sounds like you, read on.

Business Reporter – Chicago or New York
Are you a McRib fan? Or a business reporter intrigued by how a sandwich can gain such a cult following? If so, you may be the reporter we’re looking for. We’re looking for an experienced journalist to cover consumer-product marketing with a concentration on the fast-food industry. It’s a fast-paced beat that covers some of the country’s top newsmakers including McDonald’s, Starbucks, Burger King, Taco Bell and more. Fast-food reporting experience is strongly preferred.

Marketing Reporter – New York
This reporter will cover the light-speed evolution of marketing, media and communications. He or she will focus on the ad agencies reshaping the way marketers and consumers interact, with opportunities to cover innovative digital shops, fast-growing social media agencies, award-winning creative shops and the big personalities driving events. Experience covering technology, marketing or media is a plus.

Technology Reporter – Chicago or New York
This reporter will be charged with diving into how digital technologies are impacting our industry. Ad fraud is costing marketers billions of dollars each year, while programmatic advertising is changing the very nature of the way giants from Kraft Foods to L’Oreal do business. This is a high-profile, high-stakes beat, and it generates some of our most talked-about coverage. Experience covering technology, marketing or media is a plus.
