FDAnews seeks managing editor

FDANewsFDAnews seeks a full-time, in-house managing editor for several hard-news, business-to-business newsletters covering the pharmaceutical and medical devices industry and the regulations affecting these companies.

This person’s major responsibilities include the day-to-day management of reporters, scheduling coverage and assigning articles for daily, weekly and monthly online and print publications.

We want a journalist who is passionate about producing accurate, concise and easily understandable news stories for business executives. We would like someone who can juggle many different deadlines while training and encouraging reporters to produce clean copy and become experts in their field of coverage.

The right candidate is an experienced journalist with, at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree, three years of business-to-business reporting experience that includes: coverage of federal agencies and congressional actions; one year as a substantive editor using AP style; and at least one year of management experience. Knowledge of the Food and Drug Administration or the medical device, pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries is a big plus.

This is a full-time, on-site position located at our Falls Church, Va., office. Benefits include health insurance, dental, 401(k), vacation, etc.
