BloombergBloomberg editor in chief John Micklethwait sent the following to editorial and research staff members:

To Editorial & Research:

We have decided to restructure our companies teams to make our coverage even more integrated, focused and urgent across all industry groups. I am thrilled to announce Jackie Simmons as the new executive editor for a renamed beat reporting group called Global Business, Dan Hauck as the new executive editor for Deals and Corporate Finance and Stuart Wallace as the new executive editor for a combined energy and commodities team that integrates industry and markets coverage. Markets Executive Editor Bob Burgess maintains his key role in overseeing all bonds, fx and equities coverage in both developed and developing countries.

Jackie, who has worked at Bloomberg in Paris since 1996 covering everything from companies to finance to deals, will move to London to take on the new role. Benny Kammel, the team leader for aviation in Berlin, replaces Jackie as European managing editor for global business. We will also create a new team for global business called managing diversity, overseen by Lisa Kassenaar, with an initial staff of Carol Hymowitz and Laura Colby.

Dan, who has helped steer global companies coverage as managing editor, will helm a new group aimed at breaking even more news globally on corporate fundings, mergers and acquisitions. Caroline Gage, the managing editor for developed market bonds/fx, becomes managing editor for corporate finance globally. Deals Managing Editor Jeff McCracken, who has turned our M&A group into the best in the business, stays in his post, reporting to Dan.

Paul Dobson, European team leader for bonds/fx, replaces Caroline as global managing editor for bonds/fx, based in London. In New York, Dave Liedtka, one of Bloomberg News’ original reporters, leaves his position as team leader of U.S. fx/bonds to take over leadership of the muni bonds team. Boris Korby, an emerging markets reporter in New York, replaces Dave.

Stuart, who has worked as a reporter, editor, team leader and managing editor in energy and commodities his entire 15 years at Bloomberg, will oversee a new group combining all of our metals, mining, agriculture, oil and power and gas coverage, including BFW oil. The teams will have managing editors in each region and team leaders for specific coverage areas as follows:

Americas:

Tina Davis, managing editor, Americas

Lynn Doan, team leader, Americas power and gas

Margot Habiby, team leader, BFW oil

Simon Casey, team leader, Americas agriculture

James Attwood, team leader, Americas metals and mining

David Marino, team leader, Americas oil

Europe, Middle East and Africa:

Stuart Voss, BFW product manager, who will report to Stuart and have a dotted line to Kevin Reynolds

Lynn Thomasson, team leader, EMEA metals, mining and agriculture

Lars Paulsson, team leader, EMEA power and gas

Alaric Nightingale, team leader, BFW Oil

James Herron, team leader, European oil

Nayla Razzouk, team leader, Mideast commodities/energy

Phoebe Sedgman, team leader, Asia agriculture

Ramsey al-Rikabi, team leader, Asia energy

Yuji Okada, team leader for JBN commodities/energy

Ed Greenspon, who has helped enhance our energy and commodities company coverage over the past year, is promoted to senior editor based in Toronto on the editing hub, which is making a huge difference in the quality of our stories around the world and is only going to get better. In this role, Ed will play a key role for Bloomberg in Canada as well as on energy and other beats.

Congratulations to all and thank you!
