Yahoo Finance to start show featuring two former CNBC personalities

March 16, 2011

Former CNBC reporter Matt Nesto and “Fast Money” cast member Jeff Macke are starting a stock-picking show for Yahoo Finance called “Breakout.”

Chris Nicholson of the New York Times writes, “Mr. Nesto joined CNBC as a financial reporter in 2007, but The Daily Caller reported in December that his contract would not be renewed this year. ‘Matt Nesto is no longer with CNBC,’ a spokeswoman for the cable channel confirmed in an e-mail message. ‘We wish him well.’

“Before joining CNBC, he worked for Bloomberg Television and was previously an investment adviser at Lehman Brothers, Prudential Securities and Merrill Lynch.

“Mr. Macke was a hedge fund manager from 1999 to 2004 and has written for financial news outlets like TheStreet.com and Minyanville. He is a graduate of Dartmouth and Stanford, according to his Yahoo Breakout profile.

“A Yahoo spokesman was not immediately available for comment.”
