WSJ looking for tech editor

Dennis Berman, the editor of the Marketplace section of The Wall Street Journal, sent out the following announcement on Friday afternoon:

Marketplace is looking for a senior news editor to lead coverage of the most dynamic, competitive industry in the world today — technology.

This person will be responsible for driving the Journal’s tech coverage in print and online – from editing breaking news stories for Page One to keeping the successful Digits lively blog.

This key role will involve working closely with reporters and bureaus in the U.S. and across the globe as well as helping shape the Marketplace section’s coverage of some of its biggest stories each day.

The technnology editor must be able to write big-picture and analytical features, juggle multiple breaking news stories, edit in real-time for the web and create smart graphics for Marketplace.

The successful applicant will have a passion for technology, a track record of leadership and collaborative work, and at least five years’ experience covering financial, business or economic news.
