TALKING BIZ NEWS EXCLUSIVE

Robert Guy Matthews, a reporter at The Wall Street Journal for the past 12 years, is leaving the business newspaper for a position at Ernst & Young.

Here is his farewell message:

Twelve years ago today I joined the Wall Street Journal and today will be my last. I am heading to Ernst & Young’s tax practice here in Washington DC.

Working at the Journal has been a privilege – I got to report from every corner of the world and write about some of the most fascinating people on the planet. I give special thanks to every copy editor who always kept me looking smart in the paper.

But most of my gratitude goes to Clare Ansberry, my editor for most of my time at the WSJ. She helped shape me into the best journalist I could be.

I am proud to have been part of such a talented team of journalists and I will miss reporting for the great Wall Street Journal.
