February 16, 2010

The Wall Street Journal Radio Network named Mike Gavin producer of “The Wall Street Journal This Morning” and “The Wall Street Journal This Weekend,” the morning news and business-news radio shows.

Gavin will oversee production of these shows.  “The Wall Street Journal This Morning” is broadcast on more than 168 affiliated radio stations, and the weekend program is broadcast on 145 stations.

“Mike has a keen understanding of how to translate stories and business news into compelling radio segments,” said Nancy Abramson, executive director, The Wall Street Journal Radio Network, in a statement. “Mike’s creativity, extensive knowledge of the industry and commitment to providing the best radio programming will lead us to new levels of success.”

Gavin was previously a technical coordinating producer for “The Wall Street Journal This Morning.” He has produced various show features and written the show rundown on The WSJ This Morning blog.

Before joining The WSJ Radio Network, Gavin enjoyed ratings success as program director for WHTG/WBBO in Monmouth/Ocean, N.J.
