Rebecca Troyer, the editor of the Triad Business Journal in Greensboro, North Carolina, writes about why she is becoming the editor of the Denver Business Journal.

Troyer writes, “I’ll be working for the same parent company, American City Business Journals, and doing much the same kind of work: Leading a team of talented reporters as we deliver to readers the business intelligence they need to expand and grow their companies.

“It will be my third ACBJ market, which is probably why I felt at home when I first walked into the Denver newsroom: I found beat reporters working on exclusive stories, visual editors developing graphics and photographs to help tell the stories in print and online, and senior editors managing all of the output.

“I am sticking with this company because I believe its success derives from three factors: (1) we have a unique niche product that combines both hyper-local business intelligence and shared content across 43 U.S. markets; (2) we have developed uniform and efficient ways to deliver that news to our business audience; and (3) we know how to tap into and develop talent to build energetic and competitive newsrooms in an era when most daily publications are cutting staff and dropping coverage.”
