Fox Business Network has re-signed Stuart Varney to a multi-year deal where he will continue as anchor of “Varney & Co.”

“Stuart’s astute business sense and respect within the financial community make him a premier anchor and an essential part of our team,” said Roger Ailes, chairman and CEO of Fox News, in a statement. “We look forward to his continued success with Fox Business.”

Since January 2010, Varney has anchored  Varney & Co. He has been with the network since its 2007 launch and also serves as a substitute host for Fox News Channel’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto.” Since joining Fox’s business team in 2004 from CNBC, Varney has contributed to the network’s weekday and weekend business programming, including Your World, “Bulls & Bears,” “Cavuto on Business” and “Cashin’ In.”

“Fox Business is the place I want to be,” said Varney in a statement. “I am proud to continue to be a part of Roger Ailes’ top-notch team. It’s the best lineup in business television.”

Prior to Fox, he was host of CNBC’s “Wall Street Journal Editorial Board with Stuart Varney” and, before that, co-anchored CNN’s “Moneyline News Hour.” Varney helped launch CNN’s business news team in 1980 and hosted many of their financial programs, including “Your Money,” “Business Day” and “Business Asia.”

His reporting and analysis of the stock market crash of 1987 earned CNN a Peabody Award for excellence in journalism.
