Vancouver newspaper adds two new business reporters

The Vancouver Columbian in Washington state has added two new business reporters, according to this announcement in today’s newspaper: “Cami Joner and Courtney Sherwood have joined The Columbian news department as business writers.

Vancouver Columbian“Joner, 47, is a native of Stevenson and a 1999 graduate of Washington State University Vancouver with a degree in humanities and history. She was employed at the Vancouver Business Journal as a business writer for five years and was honored by the federal Small Business Administration as the recipient of the 2005 Small Business Journalist of the Year Award for Washington. She also worked as a freelance writer and communications specialist.

“Joner will cover residential and commercial real estate and the Port of Camas-Washougal.

“Sherwood, 28, grew up in Reston, Va., and is a 2000 graduate of Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, with an English degree.

“She worked two years as general assignment reporter at The Chronicle newspaper in St. Helens, Ore., before moving in 2004 to The Daily News in Longview as a business reporter.

“Sherwood will cover technology, telecommunications, and the ports of Ridgefield and Woodland.

“Joner and Sherwood complete a five-member business team that includes Editor Julia Anderson, business writer Jonathan Nelson and business news assistant Barbara Samuels.
