South Dakota TV anchor turns to biz reporting

Angela Kennecke, an anchor on KELO-TV in Souix Falls, S.D., is giving up the anchor chair to become a business and consumer reporter.

Don Jorgensen writes on the TV station’s website that, “In the last few years, Angela has put her focus on business and consumer reporting, helping viewers understand complex economic issues in times of crisis, educating people on personal finance and how to protect yourself from scams.

“KELO-TV is growing its Back to Business web page and business and consumer reporting. We feel the best way to do that is for Angela to take on a new role as Business editor.

“In order to focus on business reporting, Angela will begin working the day shift.  Not only does this help Angela expand our coverage of issues that matter to the community and for your money, but it also allows this busy working mom of four to be home more often with her children and husband in the evenings.  The change in focus will allow Angela to have more normal, family-friendly hours.

“You can still see Angela at the anchor desk on Midday in KELOLAND and on KELOLAND News at Five.  Plus, she will continue to bring you “Your Money Matters” reports on KELOLAND News at 10.”
