Jake Brown, a business reporter at the South Bend Tribune in Indiana, has left the paper for a content marketing job.

Brown writes, “Turns out Market Basket isn’t immune to this type of turnover. If you haven’t gotten the hint by now, I’ll just spit it out: This is my last effort as Market Basket columnist.

“I accepted a position as content manager for Visit South Bend Misawaka last month. Actually, by the time this runs I’ll have already started. It’s an exciting opportunity that I couldn’t turn down.

Mary Shown, a talented reporter from the Bloomington Herald-Times, will be taking over the column later this month. Having helped interview Mary, I have no doubt she’ll do a fantastic job. Mary grew up here and knows the area well, and she’s looking forward to coming back home. I’m excited to read her work in the coming weeks.

“For me, this is a bittersweet column. My new gig not only takes me away from The Tribune but out of journalism altogether after an 11-year run. It’s been a blast.”
