Jed HorowitzJed Horowitz, who was the financial companies editor and then a senior correspondent at Reuters, has left the news organization this week.

In a message to Talking Biz News, Horowitz wrote, “Given my long experience covering Wall Street, finance and regulation – and my understanding of the nuances and conflicts involved in giving financial advice to retail investors – I am looking for a platform that allows some sophisticated analysis. I also still love breaking a good story and chronicling Street culture.

Horowitz is a veteran of American Banker, Dow Jones and Crain’s, where he covered the independent wealth management industry. He joined Reuters in November 2010 to help build its coverage of retail brokerage.

As a senior correspondent, Horowitz’s beat is investment banks, commercial banks, stockbrokers –all things Wall Street and finance. He covered the culture of the companies and the outlook for their profitability as much as in markets. He has covered companies, regulation and all parts of the securities industry –including management issues, compensation, M&A deals, exchanges, wealth management, cash management.

I’ve gone back-and-forth between editing and reporting throughout my career, so I’m open to both,” said Horotitz. “You can reach me directly at jedhoro1@gmail.com or gershonmoshe@gmail.com.”
