Tricia Silva, a commercial real estate reporter at the San Antonio Business Journal, has been named the paper’s assistant managing editor.

James Aldridge of the paper writes, “Silva will work with the reporters on the development of digital and print content, as well as help coordinate the development of select special publications and sponsored events.

“Silva has shown her passion for business journalism as a commercial real estate reporter, while demonstrating her readiness for a new challenge, Editor Tony Quesada said.

“‘In the short time I have been here, Tricia has impressed me as a leader in the newsroom,’ he said. ‘It’s her time to step up to a new role.’

“Silva first joined the newspaper’s staff in 1997 while she was working on her Master’s of Literature degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Over the years, she has proven her mettle as an intern, copy editor, reporter, columnist, blogger and projects coordinator, her colleagues say.”
