Jack RobinsonJack Robinson, the editor of the Sacramento Business Journal for the past five years, has resigned effective March 31.

“Yes, I’m stepping down March 31 to move to Philadelphia, where my wife recently took a new job,” said Robinson in an email to Talking Biz News. “It was a tough decision. Love business news, and I love Sacramento – this town is really starting to blossom. But for the first time in my career, I’m putting family first. No idea yet what I’ll be doing in Philly, but I’m hoping to use this as an opportunity to try something new.”

Robinson joined the American City Business Journals newspaper in February 2011.

He had been managing editor of the Fresno Bee and assistant business editor for The Los Angeles Times, where he managed reporters with beats ranging from technology and health care to biotech and legal affairs.

Before that, Robinson spent 11 years at The Press-Enterprise of Riverside, including nine as a reporter and two as an editor. He served as the Sunday editor for the Corona-Norco edition and launched a San Bernardino County edition as first editor.

He holds a master’s degree in journalism from the Cal-Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism.
