SABEW seeks board nominations

The Society of American Business Editors and Writers is seeking business journalists who would like to serve terms on its board of governors.

Each year, one third of the board’s 18 governor seats are up for election, and SABEW is always looking for committed business journalists who would be interested in serving. SABEW is in the midst of an exciting five-year development plan that promises to expand SABEW’s reach, improve its service to members and increase its influence on the world of business journalism.

SABEW is looking for folks who want to help drive SABEW forward as it executes on this exciting mission. Our diverse board includes members from all walks of business journalism including online, print, broadcast, university faculty, wire services and much more.

Board members are required to attend two meetings each year and serve on committees that oversee everything from SABEW’s web site to the Best in Business contest to conferences. Along with working to improve SABEW’s offerings to members, board meetings provide a good opportunity for leaders throughout the business journalism community to come together and compare notes about how things are going across the country.

If you’re interested — or know somebody who’d be great for SABEW — drop an e-mail to Dave Kansas, chair of the nominating committee, at dave.kansas@filife.com.
