Reuters looking for Apple reporter

March 8, 2011

Reuters has posted that it is seeking to hire a reporter in its San Francisco bureau who will cover Apple and other tech companies.

The job posting states, “Our readers need to know everything about the company’s plans, from CEO Steve Jobs’ future to how Apple can top the iPad — and they need to know before everyone else does.

There is more to the job, from covering the world’s largest tech company by revenues, Hewlett-Packard Co, as a new CEO takes charge, to pitching in with a great group of reporters who aim to define Reuters as the news-breaking head of the pack. We are a team and we are growing: Thomson Reuters is adding journalists as the traditional news world is hemorrhaging, and we are setting our sights high demanding long-form, magazine-length stories as well as scoops that will move the market.

“This job will focus squarely on news that investors need, but we want a reporter who can write about mobile devices, computers and technology with clarity and flair. We need a correspondent who can not only write the biggest story of the day, but help lead other reporters in covering major conferences or events that will create headlines around the world.

“If you have a track record of building top sources, breaking news, spotting trends — and keeping cool in the middle of huge stories — this job may be for you.”
