Fox BusinessA production company that was preparing a reality television show for Fox Business Network has sued the business television channel after it halted production, reports Brian Flood of TVNewser.

Flood writes, “Leftfield Pictures is suing Fox Business Network for $4.5 million for failing to pick up a reality series, according to a complaint filed Friday in New York Supreme Court. Leftfield claims it was in the middle of production for a new reality series for the network, when FBN terminated the agreement and refused to pay.

“Leftfield Pictures is the production company that created History Channel’s hit Pawn Stars, along with shows on major networks including Bravo, A&E, Lifetime, HGTV, MTV and the Discovery Channel. According to the complaint, FBN and Leftfield came to an agreement in July 2014. Three months later, according to the complaint, FBN told Leftfield it wanted to halt production of the show. There’s no word on what the show was about. The network airs the highly-rated reality series Strange Inheritance, which debuted earlier this year.

“We reached out to FBN, which declined comment on the lawsuit.”
