Amy Wicks of Women’s Wear Daily reports Wednesday how new business magazine Conde Nast Portfolio is striking deals with other media outlets to direct readers to its web site.

Conde Nast PortfolioWicks wrote, “The Web site has formed a partnership with washingtonpost.com that will provide content for the Post’s new Business Travel section, targeted at frequent flyers.

“Ari Brandt, general manager, digital media at Portfolio, said there are three reasons to make this type of deal: increasing brand awareness, helping along its ‘organic searches’ and growing referrals.

“He added the ink is now dry on a deal with abcnews.com, which will begin posting Kevin Maney’s blog, Tech Observer, sometime during the next few days. And look out for four to five more deals before the year is over, Brandt said, declining to provide more information.”
