Pennsylvania paper wants to revamp Sunday biz section

Kate Harmon of the York Daily Record writes that the paper wants to change the content in its Sunday business section to better address the issues facing its readers.

Harmon writes, “So, we’re looking at ways to revamp our Sunday business section.

“We’ve already been moving toward more local coverage and fewer wire-service stories in all of our daily papers. But now, we want to gear it toward the issues that those of you who are nearing retirement or who have retired — as well as those of you engaging in post-retirement activities — can benefit the most from.

“One way we’ve done that is to team up with the York County Area Agency on Aging to provide a monthly column on the issues facing older York countians.

“Those topics can range from Medicare enrollment, to saving for retirement, to post-retirement as you find ways to volunteer your time, exercise, budget or reorganize your home.

Another effort we’re working toward is including one story in each Sunday business section that address the lives of those 55 or older.”
