Orman to get show on Oprah network

January 6, 2011

Personal finance guru Suze Orman, who already has a show on CNBC, will add a money show on OWN, the new network run by Oprah Winfrey, the network announced Thursday.

The show is tentatively titled “Money Class” and is slated to debut in the fall.

The primetime series is dedicated to addressing and moving beyond both the circumstantial and personal decisions that have created difficult financial situations for so many people around the country, by going into their lives to help them transform.

“Suze Orman is the rock star of personal finance, and her straight-forward advice will help people that are in need of a financial wake-up call,” said Lisa Erspamer, chief creative officer, OWN, in a statement.

The network debuted on Jan. 1 in approximately 85 million homes.

UPDATE: Ujala Sehgal of The Business Insider reports that Orman is still under contract for her CNBC show.
