Bill CresenzoBill Cresenzo has been named the business reporter for the Burlington Times-News in North Carolina.

He previously was a reporter for Pacific Business News, an American City Business Journals paper in Honolulu.

Editor Madison Taylor writes, “Bill Cresenzo rejoined our reporting staff on Monday after an absence of more than a decade, a time he spent living in exotic locales from New York City to Hawaii. I’ve never worked with Bill but met him during his occasional visits to the newsroom over the past few years. A lot of people I know and respect who have been colleagues of Bill’s think the world of him. That tells me all I need to know.

“Bill is filling the slot created when Chris Lavender left. Chris is now with another newspaper in our company in Spartanburg, S.C. But Bill won’t be occupying Chris’s old beat. We made a couple of changes in terms of how we cover things that we hope will offer readers more of the news they’re interested in.

“Bill is taking over a new beat largely dedicated to business coverage. He’ll be writing about everything from industry and development to business incentives. He’s interested in hearing about anything opening or closing in retail and restaurants, or what plans or rumors are out there concerning new businesses. We hope to write more stories on real estate, finances, the Chamber of Commerce, makers, and people who are making a difference in the local business arena.”
