New food column in biz section of California paper

November 23, 2006

A business reporter for the Contra Costa Times plans to write a regular food column for the business section after spending some time writing a similar column for the features section.

Contra Costa TimesJames Temple has been writing an “Out to Lunch column for the paper, but the new business section column will run one Monday a month.

In an e-mail, Temple said, “It’s going to be a once-a-month review of restaurants and bars frequented by the East Bay’s business community. It will, in a light-hearted style, seek to answer questions such as: What’s the best place to take a recruit, close a deal, impress your boss, etc. Not sure of the start date yet, but it should begin sometime next month.”

Temple will be a general assignment business writer, focused on health care, work-life issues and the news of the day. He’s returning to the business desk after a three-month rotation in the features department. Previously, he was the paper’s real estate reporter.
