Neal Award winners

March 23, 2006

Pam Henderson and Andrew Burchett of Farm Journal magazine, a Farm Journal Media publication, earned Grand Neal honors at the 52nd Annual Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards, held today at the Waldorf Astoria.

Farm JournalTheir subject-related series of articles, “Asian Soybean Rust Takes Root in the U.S.” offered an interesting viewpoint on Soybean Rust that judges called a “masterful blending of science, consumer reporting, and passion.” Henderson accepted the award, presented by renowned journalist and Neal Committee Chair Marshall Loeb in front of an audience of nearly 500 industry heavyweights. Farm Journal earned the coveted Grand Neal from a pool of over 1,200 entries.

IEEE Media’s IEEE Spectrum articles “China’s Tech Revolution” and “Who Killed the Virtual Case File?” were recognized as the first and second runner up, respectively, for the Grand Neal Award. Additional titles scoring big in the luncheon ceremony include Crain Communications’ Advertising Age, IDG’s CSO magazine, and VNU Business Media’s Editor & Publisher, who each took home Neal Awards in two categories.
