Heidi Moore, a former Wall Street Journal reporter, has been named the New York bureau chief for the public radio business news show “Marketplace.”

Moore is familiar to Marketplace listeners as a regular guest of host Kai Ryssdal‘s Friday segment, The Weekly Wrap.

Moore will report on-line on Marketplace.org and on-air on Marketplace’s three programs, Marketplace, Marketplace Morning Report and Marketplace Money.

“Heidi is a natural to lead Marketplace’s New York bureau,” says JJ Yore, executive producer for the Marketplace program portfolio, in a statement. “She’s an established, authoritative source on Wall Street developments in traditional as well as social media venues, and we’re very pleased to welcome her to the Marketplace family.”

Marketplace has three reporters in its New York bureau. In addition, the bureau recently expanded to include former Marketplace host David Brancaccio, whose “Economy 4.0” segments cover evolving changes in the global economy and financial system in the wake of the financial crisis.
