Mack GelberMargaret Magnarelli, managing editor for content at Monster.com, sent out the following announcement on Friday:

I’m pleased to announce that we have hired a new editor to join the Monster content team.

Mack Gelber comes to us from AOL Jobs, where he basically was a one-man content band. He wrote and edited on a vast array of topics from one of the oldest pipe organ companies in America to the monthly BLS numbers. I’m excited for him to bring his smart, witty writing voice to Monster. He’ll produce articles and multi-media posts on the day’s headlines—as they relate to one’s career, of course—as well as on the healthcare and tech industries.

In sum, he’ll help us further the work my team — that is, Bret Silverberg, Liz Torres, and Rob Fucci — plus Julia Gaynor and our friends in social have already been doing to create content to help people find work they love.

I hope you’ve enjoyed some of what they’ve done in the last few weeks, from the newsy (like what the Supreme Court decision on gay marriage means for the workplace and a piece on companies with amazing maternity leave policies in response to Netflix’s new policy)  to the service-y (like “How long is too long for a resume?” and “How to be extra-productive with your job search when your boss is on vacation” and “13 traits you absolutely need to get hired at Chipotle“) to the fun (a la “5 ways job interviews are like first dates” and our quiz on TV bosses) to the purr-fectly ridiculous (e.g. “11 stylish cats help you dress for your next job interview”).

We’ve also showcased some terrific thought leadership from our internal experts like Joanie Courtney and Eric Weingardner, and we’d love to do more of that. Hint, hint.

There’s more of all of this to come! And hopefully in the next few months you’ll also see our content elsewhere as we pursue syndication opportunities.

Anyway, Mack starts Monday and will be based in New York. We’ll get him up to Weston soon!
