Gatehouse Ohio Media, which owns the Canton Repository daily in Ohio, has started a business newspaper called the Stark Business Journal.

Teri Hayt, executive editor, GateHouse Ohio Newspapers, writes, “SBJ will touch on all types of businesses, from agriculture to oil and gas, to start-up businesses to major corporations. We will provide in-depth articles about local companies that have been around for decades and continue to grow and succeed. We’ll examine technology’s role in business and how educational institutions work with businesses to train future employees.

“What does it take to go from local to regional and beyond in today’s business world? What influences businesses the most and what business standards must companies live up to these days? These are just a few of the issues we will examine in coming editions.

“In this edition, Shane Hoover reports on the local business climate and economy and how businesses, large and small, interact with each other in a business ecosystem.

“In addition, you will see we have moved our standing feature ‘What’s Your Business?’ to SBJ; today it looks at Dougherty Flowers in Nimishillen Township, a retail flower shop and wholesale greenhouse that is celebrating 90 years.

“Stark Business Journal will publish every other Tuesday as an insert in The Repository. Look for our next edition on June 18.”
