LinkedInLinkedIn announced Tuesday that it has hired two more business journalists.

On the heels of appointing former The Wall Street Journal’s social media and analytics editor for Asia, Maya Pope-Chappell, to editor in New York earlier this year, the company has also hired Caroline Fairchild, best known for the Fortune “Broadsheet” daily newsletter as a San Francisco-based editor and veteran journalist Ramya Venugopal, as LinkedIn’s first editor in India.

Fairchild and Venugopal begin on March 2.

LinkedIn’s editorial team, led by executive editor Daniel Roth, is focused on making LinkedIn the definitive publishing platform for professionals through their work with Influencers who blog on LinkedIn, as well as by surfacing top content published by members, who are currently delivering more than 50,000 posts per week.

Fairchild will serve as new economy editor, focusing on venture capital and entrepreneurial content from her new base in San Francisco. Most recently, Fairchild served as a reporter at Fortune where she built “The Broadsheet,” a widely read daily newsletter on women in business. Prior to that, Fairchild was a reporter for Bloomberg and The Huffington Post. Fairchild shares an account on why she chose LinkedIn, which was just posted on LinkedIn this morning.

Venugopal will serve as a senior editor based in Bengaluru, India, where she will focus on business in India.  She has led an impressive career in journalism spanning nearly 20 years, reporting for several premier outlets including The Economic Times, Thomson Reuters and Bloomberg. She most recently served as the managing editor of YourStory, an Indian platform for stories on entrepreneurs and startup companies.

The LinkedIn editorial team is currently comprised of top journalists from publications including the Associated Press, Reuters, Wire, among other top news organizations.
