OLD Media Moves

Li to rejoin Reuters from Financial Times

August 24, 2010

The following announcement was made internally at Reuters on Tuesday morning by Tiffany Wu, editor of company news for the Americas:

“Please join me in welcoming back Ken Li, who will rejoin Reuters in mid-September as our Tech,  Media & Telecoms Editor-in-Charge. Many of you know Ken very well from his previous stint at Reuters as our global media correspondent, where he not only broke a ton of news but also co-founded our first Company News blog, MediaFile. As ‘Widget’ EIC, Ken will oversee one of the most exciting sectors in corporate America (I’m not biased, of course!), where new technologies and venture capital-backed upstarts are changing our way of life and upending decades-old business models.

“Ken is a recognized authority in this space and I am certain he will bring new energy and ideas to the team. ‘I got tired of talking up Reuters without being on the payroll,’ jokes Ken, on why he’s returning to the company after two years at the Financial Times. ‘I will once again live my life one snap at a time.’

“‘Congratulations also go to Ken and Yuriko Kurahashi, who got married last weekend! Some of us were there to witness the lovely ceremony on Saturday, presided over by our very own Bobby Mac, at the River Café in Brooklyn.”

Bobby Mac is a reference to Robert MacMillan, another Reuters editor.
