Lamenting Business 2.0's demise

Rick Aristotle Munarriz of The Motley Fool writes that he’s going to miss business magazine Business 2.0, which is shutting down after its October issue.

Business 2.0Munarriz wrote, “Searching through the Fool’s site, I see nearly 50 references to Business 2.0 over the past decade. It was certainly inspirational fodder from time to time. I piggybacked off last month’s cover story on technological disruptors, to introduce public plays off those changes.

“Sure, there are plenty of great online resources for market-worthy tech news. CNET Networks is a master, by way of its sites such as News.com and Webware. Google, Yahoo!, and Microsoft all run great financial portals with timely news feeds. However, some stories are too good to deliver in mere hundreds of words. I’ll really miss Business 2.0‘s rich, in-depth articles.

“I guess that’s why I’m stunned to find that there isn’t more of an outcry over Time Warner’s move to stop the presses. I couldn’t have been the only one enlightened, challenged, and ultimately changed by the publication.”
