John Huey, the editor in chief at Time Inc.’s magazine operations who previously worked at The Wall Street Journal and helped launch its European edition, doesn’t believe that News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch will hurt The Journal after he acquires it next month.

John HueyAtlanta Constitution reporter Bo Emerson wrote, “A former reporter for The Wall Street Journal who made his bones helping to found the European edition of the paper, Huey said the Journal and its parent, Dow Jones & Co., will not be adversely affected by the fact that they have been purchased by conservative Australian media magnate Rupert Murdoch.

“‘The Wall Street Journal will still be the primary source of information for most business leaders. And I think the liberal press outcry is more about [itself] than about The Wall Street Journal,’ Huey added. ‘You have to remember it wasn’t a pack of liberals there [at the Journal] in the first place.'”
