Dwight Silverman, who has covered technology for the Houston Chronicle for the past two decades, is bcoming the paper’s social media manager.

Silverman writes, “Another one of those upheavals is the rise of social media, which is changing the way people interact with each other — and with news. As a result, my primary job is changing, too. I’m now the social media manager for the Chronicle’s newsroom, a new role that will consume the lion’s share of my time. While I’ll no longer be writing the Always On column in the Business section, I’ll still be writing about personal technology daily on my blog at blog.chron.com/techblog. And I’ll continue to post links and observations on my Twitter feed at twitter.com/dsilverman.

“My goal is to significantly raise the activity of the Chronicle and its journalists on social networks. You can watch what we’re doing via our Twitter feed at twitter.com/houstonchron and our Facebook page at facebook.com/chroncom. Follow us, “like” us and join me in the conversation.

“Thanks for being here with me for almost 20 years, and I’m looking forward to continuing our relationship online.”
